Rishikesh / Shivpuri Package
The Rishikesh / Shivpuri Package is our compact two-day riverside escape, pairing a night under canvas at a Ganges beach camp in Shivpuri with a morning of white-water rafting on one of India's most famous stretches of river. Just upstream of Rishikesh in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand, it is the ideal short adventure break — camp games and a bonfire on the first evening, then rapids, body-surfing and a cliff jump on the second. Perfect as a weekend getaway or a lively add-on to a North India trip.
Tour overview
Rishikesh sits where the Ganges leaves the Himalaya and spills onto the plains, and it has two very different reputations: as the "Yoga Capital of the World", with its ashrams, riverside temples and the famous suspension bridges of Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula, and as the country's leading centre for white-water rafting. Shivpuri, roughly 16 km upstream of the town, is the heart of that rafting scene — a string of beach camps along the river from which most of the popular rapids are run. This package is built around that adventurous side, and it works beautifully either on its own or bolted onto a Haridwar and Rishikesh sightseeing trip.
We arrange the whole break privately, with your own transport up from Delhi, Haridwar or Rishikesh and a place at a well-run riverside camp. The stay is deliberately simple and social: tented accommodation on the sand, meals and snacks provided, and a first evening given over to camp games and a bonfire before an early night ahead of the river. Because it is short and flexible, we can lengthen it, add extra adventure activities, or combine it with the evening Ganga Aarti and temple visits in Rishikesh and Haridwar — just tell us how much time you have.
A night at a Ganges beach camp
Tented accommodation on the riverside sand at Shivpuri, with all meals and evening snacks, camp games such as carrom, badminton and volleyball, and a bonfire after dinner.
White-water rafting
A guided rafting run on the Ganges, with the chance to body-surf the calmer stretches and take a cliff jump into the river along the way.
Easy to extend
Pair the camp with Rishikesh's suspension bridges and evening Ganga Aarti, or add activities such as bungee jumping, trekking or a wildlife safari nearby.

FAQ
Rishikesh / Shivpuri Package — your questions answered
Shivpuri is a riverside spot on the Ganges about 16 km upstream of Rishikesh, in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand. It is the main hub for the beach camps and white-water rafting that Rishikesh is famous for, so this package is based there while the town itself is close by for sightseeing.
No, you do not need any prior rafting experience. The runs are led by trained river guides who brief you on safety and paddling first, and the package is designed for beginners and families — you can take on as much or as little of the body-surfing and cliff jump as you feel comfortable with.
The package includes one night at a riverside beach camp, all meals from lunch on the first day to breakfast on the second, and evening snacks. It also covers the white-water rafting, camp games and activities, an evening bonfire, and the body-surfing and cliff jump; transport and extra activities can be added on request.
The best time to raft near Rishikesh is from late September to mid-June. Rafting usually stops during the monsoon, roughly July to mid-September, when the Ganges runs high and fast, so we plan the camp stay for the open season and can advise on the exact dates.
Yes, it works well as a short add-on to a larger itinerary. Because it is only two days, we often combine it with Rishikesh and Haridwar sightseeing and the evening Ganga Aarti, or attach it to a Delhi and Himalayan foothills trip — tell us your total days and we will fit it in.
