Hill Station Tours
Shimla, Manali, Naldhera & Kasol Tour
This 5-day Himachal tour is the classic hill-station escape from Delhi, looping through Shimla, Naldhera and Kufri, up to Manali and the high drama of Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley, and out via the pine-and-river valley of Kasol. It packs the Colonial-era charm of the "Queen of the Hills", the highest golf course in the region, snow points and adventure sports, and a mellow riverside finish into one comfortable long-weekend-plus journey through the Himachal Himalaya.
Tour overview
The route runs the classic Himachal circuit: up from the plains to Shimla, the former summer capital of British India, then across to Manali in the Kullu valley for the highest passes and the adventure country, before descending through the Parvati valley at Kasol on the way back to Delhi. It is an ideal introduction to the Indian hills — enough variety to feel a real journey, but compact enough to fit a short break.
Era Tours has run Himalayan road trips privately since 1997, and we operate this as a fully chauffeur-driven, tailor-made tour with hand-picked hotels. Several of the mountain highlights — the Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley activities, river rafting near Pandoh, pony rides at Kufri — are seasonal and weather-dependent, with permits and local surcharges, so we plan honestly around road and weather conditions and arrange the local logistics for you.
Rohtang Pass or Solang Valley
A full day towards the 3,978m Rohtang Pass, or Solang Valley for snow skiing and paragliding — subject to weather, permits and the local NGT rules we handle for you.
Naldhera and Kufri
Naldhera holds one of the highest golf courses in the region, while Kufri is the area's high snow point, with pony rides and Himalayan views.
The road to Manali
The drive through Mandi, the Pandoh Dam and the Beas river rafting stretch is a highlight in itself, with the option to raft on the way.

FAQ
Shimla, Manali, Naldhera & Kasol Tour — your questions answered
This is a 5-day, 4-night tour from Delhi. It gives you two nights around Shimla with Naldhera and Kufri, two in the Manali area for Rohtang and Solang, and a Kasol stop on the drive back — a compact but full circuit of the classic Himachal hill stations.
No — Rohtang Pass is seasonal and weather-dependent. It sits at 3,978m and can be closed by snow, and access requires permits and is subject to NGT and local taxi-union rules and surcharges. We plan around the day's road and weather conditions, and if Rohtang is not accessible we substitute Solang Valley, which offers snow and adventure sports.
March to June is the most popular window, with pleasant hill weather and lingering snow at Rohtang and Kufri. October to February brings crisp, quieter mountains and the chance of fresh snowfall, while July to September sees monsoon rain that can trigger landslides on the mountain roads.
The tour begins with a full day's drive from Delhi up to Shimla, and the Shimla-to-Manali leg is another scenic mountain drive via Mandi and the Pandoh Dam. Hill roads are winding, so the driving days are a real part of the experience; we keep the pace comfortable and build in stops along the Beas river.
Adventure activities such as Beas river rafting, Solang Valley paragliding and skiing, and Kufri pony rides are available but on direct payment at your own cost. They are optional and weather-dependent; our driver and team help you arrange them locally so you can add whichever appeal to you.
